Job summary

Duke Health Integrated Practice in Durham, NC seeks a bilingual Spanish interpreter to support the Duke Children’s & Internal Medicine Clinic. You will provide face-to-face and remote interpretation and translate clinical documents to ensure accurate communication.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, neutrality, and adherence to risk management guidelines while helping patients understand treatment options and care plans.

Qualifications

• Spanish interpretation and translation required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology essential.
• Health-care setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Face to face interpretation for medical appointments.
• Phone/video interpretation as needed.
• Translate documentation for providers/clinicians.
• Act as neutral conduit between Duke staff and non-English-speaking patients.
• Communicate outpatient services and care plans accurately.
• Address questions/concerns per risk management directives.
• Maintain confidentiality of assignment information.
• Provide interpreter services and avoid personal biases.
