Job summary

Duke Children's and Internal Medicine North Durham in Durham, NC seeks a part-time Medical Interpreter - Spanish to support pediatric care. You will provide face-to-face interpretation, translate clinical documents, and act as a neutral conduit to ensure clear communication between Duke staff and non-English-speaking patients and their families.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of conversation/translation competency testing in secondary language.

Responsibilities

• Face to face interpretation for medical appointments.
• Translation of documentation for providers/clinicians.
• Act as neutral conduit of information between Duke staff and non-English-speaking patients/visitors.
• Maintain confidentiality of all assignment-related information.
• Promote patient understanding and satisfaction with Duke services.
