Varstaff Staffing seeks an experienced tooling design engineer to design tooling for aerospace production, including Blue Origin's New Glenn. You will create CAD models and drawings, apply ASME Y14.5, and drive tooling projects from concept through commissioning.

You will collaborate with designers and manufacturing teams, perform basic hand calculations, GD&T, and ensure safety, cost, and reliability across the tooling lifecycle.

Competenze

• B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with tooling design, fabrication, and procurement.
• Proven experience with CAD-based design software for modeling and drafting.
• Experience with Creo Parametric and Windchill CAD/PDM systems.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals related to mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
• Ability to create free-body diagrams, identify load cases, and perform basic hand calculations for common failure modes.
• Three or more years of direct manufacturing experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, a U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Mansioni

• Design, create, and release CAD models and engineering drawings for simple tooling in accordance with ASME Y14.5 design and drafting standards.
• Solve technical design challenges involving assembly fixtures, material-handling equipment, rotisseries, test fixtures, structural weldments, environmental chambers, and custom machinery.
• Manage tooling projects from concept through commissioning, including vendor selection, procurement, fabrication, inspection, installation, and proof testing.
• Establish procurement and fabrication priorities and communicate them clearly to the team.
• Define and support repair and rework activities.
• Perform root cause analyses for nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Develop appropriate material-handling and packaging requirements to protect hardware.
• Collaborate with component designers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Integration Engineering to optimize safety, cost, quality, cycle time, delivery, reliability, service life, and maintainability.
