Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking Test Engineer II–IV for the Test Operations Maintenance team at Launch Site One, Van Horn, TX. You will sustain facility hardware, support activations, and drive improvements in a remote, high‑desert testing environment.

Ideal candidates have a mechanical or aerospace engineering background with hands-on maintenance experience, strong problem solving, and the ability to work across multiple sites, including travel up to 10% for surge needs.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in test, propulsion, industrial, or hardware-rich environments.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure, cryogenic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and standards.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Author maintenance work instructions for test facility hardware.
  • Define preventative maintenance for test facility hardware and support equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support functional testing of components (valves, regulators, etc.).
  • Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance and repair.
  • Participate in readiness reviews and risk assessments to ensure safety compliance.
  • Provide technical input for new designs to aid maintainability and operability.
  • Act as a certified operator to support return-to-service and activations.
