Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a software simulation engineer to design and implement sophisticated simulation models and test scripts for the Blue Ring Spacecraft on‑orbit testbed. You will work with customers and internal teams to gather requirements, develop robust simulations, and ensure seamless hardware/software integration.

This role demands strong C/C++, Python, RTOS knowledge and hands-on scripting, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of proven experience in aerospace software simulation testbeds
• Proficient in C/C++ development with strong technical proficiency
• Skilled in Python or similar scripting languages
• RTOS and embedded control systems know-how including APIs and device drivers
• Familiarity with UDP/TCP, I2C, UART protocols and software testing methods
• Version control experience (Git) and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Contribute to release strategy, coordination, and documentation
• Develop sophisticated simulation models and accurate test scripts
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to capture requirements
• Develop and execute tests to ensure robustness of models
• Support hardware/software integration and anchoring simulations to hardware data
• Travel up to 10–15% domestically
