Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager for the Lunar Permanence program. You will lead delivery plans, manage scope, cost, schedule, and risk, and partner with engineers, program managers, and NASA to align commitments with execution.

Responsibilities include creating program plans with technical leads, driving week-to-week agile execution as a scrum master, and reporting status, risks, and recovery plans to leadership. A safety-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience related to software development.
• Experience with MS Project, P6 Primavera or similar.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust plans of product deliveries and lead tracking of key operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk.
• Identify and define problem statements and have enough experience to build a realistic project schedule.
• Work with technical leads to define program scope to create program plans.
• Work with program management toward long-range objectives without appreciable direction and resolve technical objectives of assignments to develop approaches to solutions.
• Provide regular status updates and work to resolve project discrepancies (schedule, budget, resources, etc.).
• Engage with developers on significant issues sufficiently to report to senior leadership.
• In partnership with Responsible Engineers and Team Leads own the technical success of product development.
• Help run contracts and produce statements of work.
