Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Product Manager to own the software that runs on our spacecraft, including the flight software platform and onboard compute. You will work with engineers across flight software, hardware, and mission systems to define features and drive the product roadmap in a hybrid on‑site role at our San Jose, CA office.

The role requires 3–5 years of PM experience in technically complex environments, with a background in flight software or related deep‑tech domains.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years PM experience owning software products in technically complex environments.
• Experience in flight software, embedded systems, robotics, or adjacent deep‑tech software domains.
• Experience cross‑functionally with multiple engineering teams at once.
• Success in uncertain environments with incomplete requirements and shifting schedules.
• Proven track record delivering major features spanning multiple months.
• Independent execution across concurrent workstreams.
• Ability to influence cross‑organizational technical investment without direct authority.
• Translate customer mission needs into detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities

• Own roadmaps for the flight software platform and onboard compute.
• Define and prioritize features that improve product quality, schedule adherence, or customer value.
• Author clear PRDs, drive alignment, and follow‑through reliably.
• Partner with the Director of Product Management to develop strategy for product areas.
• Conduct customer interviews and translate insights into roadmaps and artifacts.
