Job summary

Muon Space in San Jose, CA is seeking a Product Manager II to own the software that runs on our spacecraft, including the flight software platform and onboard compute. The role is hybrid, requiring three days on-site in the San Jose office.

You will define end-to-end capabilities, develop roadmaps, and partner with engineering teams across flight software, hardware, and mission systems to deliver customer-focused software for space missions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Product Management experience owning software products.
• Experience in flight software, embedded systems, robotics, or related deep-tech software.
• Experience working with multiple engineering teams concurrently.
• Proven success in uncertain environments with incomplete requirements.
• Delivering major features spanning multi-month efforts.
• Ability to translate customer mission needs into detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the roadmaps for the flight software platform and onboard compute.
• Define and prioritize features that improve quality, schedule adherence, or customer value.
• Author PRDs, drive alignment, and follow through reliably.
• Partner with Director of Product Management on strategy and build/buy decisions.
• Conduct customer interviews and translate insights into roadmaps.
