Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Technician – Level 3 to join our Space Sector team in Redondo Beach, CA. This 100% onsite role requires SCI clearance and involves assembling, testing, and fabricating mechanical components for space flight hardware, with a 9/80 schedule and occasional travel.

Responsibilities include handling flight hardware, following drawings and process documents, and performing bonding operations using space-qualified adhesives.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
• Requires ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
• Knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly and operations using Blueprints, engineering drawings, or written instructions.
• Experience using MS Office tools and other software.

Responsibilities

• Handling delicate flight hardware using proper ESD and contamination control best practice.
• Performs mechanical assembly using space flight drawings and process documents.
• Performs space flight bonding operations using various adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections on complex composite and structural assemblies.
• Utilizes calibrated tools and shelf-life materials to perform assembly operations.
• Other duties as assigned
