Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Mechanical Technician – Level 1 for an onsite role. You will support mechanical engineers in designing, testing, fabricating, and assembling components and systems for space flight hardware, with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and ability to obtain SCI access. Candidates should be able to read engineering drawings, work with hand/power tools, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
• Experience with mechanical assembly using blueprints or drawings.
• Proficient with MS Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Handle delicate flight hardware with proper ESD and contamination control.
• Assemble mechanical components from space flight drawings.
• Perform bonding operations using adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections.
• Use calibrated tools and shelf-life materials for assembly.
