Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Engineer Mechanical (Level 2) for our Space Systems division in Redondo Beach, CA. This in-person role requires strong collaboration with program management, systems engineering, and flight hardware design engineers; a 9/80 schedule is offered.

Qualified candidates will have a STEM degree and multi-disciplinary IT&L or manufacturing experience, with SCI clearance preferred. Eligible benefits include medical, 401k, education assistance, and more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in STEM plus 2 years experience OR Master of Science in STEM with 0 years experience.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary IT&L or Manufacturing environments.
• Strong long-term planning and scheduling skills.
• Extensive technical experience with space mechanical systems, architecture, and testing or manufacturing procedures.
• Active SCI clearance is required at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Design tests to verify system requirements.
• Develop detailed mechanical integration and test procedures for technicians.
• Provide technical oversight to floor operations.
• Document and remedy test anomalies and hardware non-conformances.
• Coordinate across disciplines to define operations and accomplish work efficiently.
• Provide input into the design of flight hardware and support equipment.
• Estimate task durations and execute according to schedules.
