Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Fluid Systems Engineer to lead design, development, analysis and testing of rocket fluid subsystems. You will work through conceptual design, requirements definition, thermo-fluid modeling, and performance validation for high-pressure, cryogenic hardware.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, author specifications, manage vendors, and ensure designs meet ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards while delivering clear analysis reports in a fast-paced spaceflight program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering required.
  • 3+ years experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid system design or test.
  • Experience with spacecraft fluid systems and components in detail design.
  • Solid understanding of valves, pressure vessels, fittings and tubing.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, integration and quality control for tubes/piping and machined components.

Responsibilities

  • Design and route complex fluid subsystems (pressurization, pneumatics, propellant utilization).
  • Lead design, development, analysis and testing of fluid systems for rockets.
  • Author component specifications and manage suppliers through qualification and delivery.
  • Collaborate with other groups to ensure systems work together and resolve issues with risk.
  • Lead component and system level testing and data analysis.
  • Manage project aspects including vendor management, scheduling, and budget tracking.
  • Work with REFPROP, SINDA/FLUINT and Thermal Desktop or equivalent tools.
  • Use Creo for 3D CAD and ANSYS for FEA as needed.
  • Deliver designs using ASME Y14.5 GD&T and document analyses.
