Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) invites students pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields to join the Embedded Applications group and help build software systems for spaceflight projects.

Your work will include contributing to flight software, modeling and simulation, verification and analysis, with mentorship from an experienced team to develop new capabilities

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • Experience with C or C++.
  • Eligibility for U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret security clearance.
  • Passion for quality software and learning high-reliability systems.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to software projects in the Space Exploration Sector ranging from flight software to modeling and simulation, verification, analysis and/or research.
  • Work with a team and experienced mentor to build new software capabilities for ongoing space exploration projects.
