Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an mid‑level Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) specialist in Washington state to support Hazardous and non‑hazardous waste management, compliance inspections, and training across spaceflight systems. You will participate in incident investigations, develop safety programs, and assist in OSHA/hazard communication.

The role requires 3–5 years in aerospace or industrial manufacturing and an associate degree in environmental fields, with training in RCRA/DOT within 30–90

Qualifications

• 3–5 years proven aerospace/manufacturing experience
• Associate degree in Environmental programs including hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, or related field experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills that enable building relationships across all levels
• Must complete RCRA and DOT training within 30–90 days of onboarding
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate safety-related equipment

Responsibilities

• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous process waste streams and recycling initiatives (50–60% of time)
• Support EHS management and engineering staff with on-site compliance during development, test, and manufacturing operations
• Conduct daily compliance inspections and safety audits
• Execute emergency response plans and training demonstrations
• Assist investigations of injuries, illnesses, and near misses
• Serve as a focal point for EHS issues across teams and sites
• Administer PPE and support job hazard analyses
