Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Florida is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist to implement and oversee EHS programs at the site. The role emphasizes hazardous waste management, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, and training to sustain a safe aerospace environment.

You will conduct inspections, support safety committees, and ensure timely reporting and follow-up actions. A strong safety culture and teamwork are essential to protect personnel and operations.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field required.
• 3-5 years of industry-related experience preferred.
• Must complete RCRA and DOT training within six months for hazardous waste handling.
• Forklift and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications desirable.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and off shifts as needed.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal EHS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste, labeling, and shipment coordination.
• Conduct routine environmental and safety inspections (storm water, SPCC, wastewater, fire extinguishers).
• Participate in safety walks and safety committee actions; follow up on corrective actions.
• Enter and maintain data in EHS software; generate reports.
• Support incident investigations and job hazard analyses; assist in safety audits.
