Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support the Florida site. You will implement EHS programs across hazardous and non-hazardous waste, conduct inspections, and participate in safety walks and committees.

The role focuses on building a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement for a mission-driven aerospace operation. Ideal candidates have an Associate’s Degree in EHS with 3–5 years’ experience, plus readiness to obtain additional

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field required.
• 3-5 years of industry-related experience preferred.
• Must complete RCRA and DOT training within six months for hazardous waste handling.
• Willing to obtain additional certifications including forklift and First Aid/CPR/AED.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and off shifts as required.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations at local, state and federal levels.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships across levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste: consolidate, label, inspect, coordinate shipments
• Conduct routine environmental and safety inspections (storm water, SPCC, wastewater, extinguishers, eyewash)
• Participate in monthly safety walks and safety committee; follow up on corrective actions
• Enter data into EHS software modules
• Serve as a resource to work groups on EHS questions
• Assist in incident investigations and follow-up actions
• Review and develop Job Hazard Analyses with work groups
• Perform health and safety audits as required
• Run reports to convey information clearly
• Perform other duties as assigned
