Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Environmental Control and Life Support System Senior Project Manager to lead large flight hardware projects for NASA ECLSS under JETS II. You will manage a team of engineers, develop concepts, perform risk and cost management, and ensure compliance with space flight requirements.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 10–15 years of related experience, with strong communication skills and experience with government financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Master’s degree and 10–15 years of related experience
• Experience with Government and internal company financial reporting, including budgeting and forecasting
• Experience managing and leading a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with customers and management
• Ability to present written documents and verbally at meetings
• Ability to visualize complex mechanical/electrical systems and solve problems with a team
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities

• Lead large and/or advanced flight hardware projects for NASA ECLSS team under the JSC contract
• Lead a team of engineers to develop mechanical or electrical hardware for space flight
• Perform project management for sustainment of hardware development, manufacturing, and assembly
• Develop conceptual designs, conduct trade studies, and assess key requirements
• Manage risk across cost, schedule, and technical domains
• Ensure compliance with space flight hardware requirements and processes
• Communicate project status to JETS management and NASA customer
• Coach and mentor early-career team members
• Provide budgeting, forecasting and cost estimating support
• Monitor cost performance against plans
• Develop and maintain company and government financial reports
• Oversee procedures, work instructions and process flows
• Review financial data for reporting accuracy
• Plan hardware troubleshooting for failures in flight or test hardware
• Develop long-range strategic plans for new development and resupply activities
• Present project status at EC3 Branch Chief reviews
• Perform duties per established guidelines
• Perform other duties as required
