Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Wire Harness Design Engineer II to own harness design across space and airborne platforms. You will develop schematics, routing, connectors, and harness drawings, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians.

The role covers from initial specs through integration and test, with design reviews to improve performance and reliability of harness systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
2 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
Familiarity with harness design tools Capital Essentials or Zuken E3.
Basic understanding of wiring, impedance, shielding, and EMC considerations.
Exposure to IPC-WHMA-A-620 and NASA-STD 8739.4A.

Responsibilities

Assist design of high-complexity wire harnesses for space and airborne systems.
Ensure harness designs meet requirements and workmanship standards.
Select components using reliability, availability, and manufacturability criteria.
Address EMI/EMC, radiation tolerance, and space charging environments.
Collaborate with engineers and suppliers to align with system requirements.
Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of harness systems.
