CesiumAstro in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Wire Harness Design Engineer to own the design of power, digital, analog and RF interconnects for space hardware. You will develop harness schematics, route cables, select connectors, and produce harness drawings, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians.

The role spans the full design process from initial specs through integration and test, with participation in design reviews to enhance reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
• Proficiency with harness design tools such as RapidHarness.
• Solid understanding of wire routing, impedance, shielding and EMC.
• Experience ensuring compliance with IPC-WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001.
• Hands-on use of lab instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads).
• Detail-oriented documentation and strong communication skills.
• Aerospace industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Own wire harness designs from schematic to harness assembly drawings.
• Define specs, perform routing, connector selection, and harness integration.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and harness technicians to develop systems.
• Participate in design reviews and improve reliability and performance.
