Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Wire Harness Design Engineer II to own harness design activity for space and airborne systems. You will develop schematics, route cables, select connectors, and produce harness drawings, working closely with electrical, mechanical, and harness teams to deliver robust interconnects.

The role requires a BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 2 years of relevant experience, and familiarity with Capital Essentials or Zuken E3.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
• Familiarity with harness design tools (Capital Essentials or Zuken E3).
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the design and development of high-complexity wire harnesses across space and airborne systems and GSE.
• Adherence to requirements and workmanship standards for harness design
• Leverage parts listing based on reliability, availability, and manufacturability
• Inform design for EMI/EMC compliance, radiation tolerance and space charging environments
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet system-level performance and reliability
• Support integration, testing, and troubleshooting of harness systems
• Proliferate design standards and contribute to process improvements
• Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to manage supply chain, quality and schedules
• Present technical solutions in reviews; be SME for interconnects
