Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin seeks a Wire Harness Design Engineer II to own and advance power, digital, analog, and RF interconnects for space and aerospace platforms.

You will work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians to define specifications, develop harness routing, and produce assembly drawings, from concept through integration and test. The role emphasizes collaboration and high-reliability components, with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 years of relevant industry or university research experience.
• Familiarity with wire harness design tools.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC, radiation, and space environments.
• Experience with high-reliability connectors (D38999, Micro-D, Nano-D).

Responsibilities

• Assist the design of high-complexity wire harnesses across space systems.
• Adhere to requirements and workmanship standards for harness design.
• Support EMI/EMC, radiation tolerance, and space charging considerations.
• Collaborate across functions to align with system requirements.
• Assist integration, testing, and troubleshooting of harness systems.
• Proliferate design standards and drive process improvements.
• Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers on supply chain and schedule.
• Present technical solutions in design reviews as SME for interconnects.
