Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support AI&T and final vehicle assembly of the Blue Ring spacecraft. You will translate engineering intent into flight hardware, develop manufacturing work instructions, and drive DFMA improvements across the integration lifecycle.

The role emphasizes FMEA, collaboration with Test Operations, Quality, and Design Engineering to ensure readiness for milestones. A-Shift schedule and relocation are available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
  • 1+ years creating English-language work instructions.
  • Must be available to work A-Shift (M–TH, 5:00AM–3:30PM) with flexibility to adjust shift.

Responsibilities

  • Support AI&T and final vehicle assembly activities for the Blue Ring spacecraft on A-Shift.
  • Translate engineering intent into flight hardware and serve as technical resource during integration.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain manufacturing work instructions for full integration flow.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues on the floor and disposition non-conformances.
  • Create in-build redlines and recommend engineering changes to improve assembly sequences.
  • Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for documentation.
  • Conduct FMEA with focus on integration risk reduction and test readiness gates.
  • Drive DFMA improvements across the integration lifecycle, including tooling and cycle time.
  • Collaborate with Test Operations, Quality, and Design Engineering to ensure readiness for milestones.
  • Support shift turnover and document in-progress build status and configuration tracking.
  • Ensure work aligns with AS9100, ISO 9001 quality standards.
