Job summary

Lanteris Space LLC, a subsidiary of Intuitive Machines, seeks a Software Development Engineer to design and implement software for spacecraft simulators in San Jose, CA or US remote locations. You will model spacecraft components, interpret ICDs, and integrate software with CI/CD pipelines.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of software development experience (C++/Python), Linux proficiency, and familiarity with testing and Agile methods.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or Aerospace Engineering; four additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in simulation of spacecraft or complex systems.
• Ability to read hardware specifications and ICDs and translate into functional code.
• Proficiency with Linux and common software development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement models of spacecraft components and subsystems for all-software spacecraft simulators.
• Read and interpret spacecraft hardware specifications, ICDs, and technical documents to develop accurate software models.
• Work with and enhance existing simulation codebases while maintaining system functionality and architecture.
• Deploy code through CI/CD pipelines and develop automated tests.
• Collaborate with team members to solve design challenges and evaluate trade-offs.
• Communicate with software and systems engineers to ensure coherent system design.
• Write and perform unit, integration, and system-level tests on software applications.
• Participate in customer-facing design reviews and other technical discussions.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge.
