Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to design and analyze mechanical systems for spacecraft and aerospace products. You will contribute across the development cycle from concept through testing and in-orbit support, with emphasis on thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations.

The role requires a BS in mechanical engineering and at least one year of industry experience, proficiency in CAD tools, GD&T, and engineering analysis.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical engineering or closely related field with relevant design experience.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with CAD tools: SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo or AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of DFMA implications for material and process selection.
• Familiarity with GD&T, drafting standards, and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical designs of CesiumAstro products through all development phases.
• Perform CAD modeling, simulations, and environmental qualification activities.
• Contribute to thermal management design and electronics packaging tasks.
• Assist with design reviews and documentation to communicate progress.
