Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Palm Bay, FL is seeking a Space Vehicle Assembly, Integration and Test engineer to support assembly, integration, and test of space systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure DFMA/DFMT alignment and test readiness for mission-critical hardware.

The role requires hands-on engineering in space vehicle integration, the ability to analyze telemetry, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or industrial engineering with minimum of 3 years industry experience or a minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of direct experience with integration and test of high reliability space products, launch vehicle, satellite programs or other complex systems.
• Experience in implementing lean/six sigma techniques (FMEA, DFMA, DTC, DOE, and root cause/corrective action analysis).
• Security Clearance required upon hire: Secret

Responsibilities

• Support production team in the execution of assembly, integration, and test for an assigned satellite in accordance with customer requirements, business objectives and L3Harris processes.
• Collaborate with cross functional technical teams on spacecraft development design for manufacture and test (DFMA/DFMT) and process improvements to minimize development costs.
• Develop and maintain detailed Satellite System integration and test plans and coordinate resources required over the life of the project.
• Analyze engineering design drawings and part lists and generate clear assembly documentation for shop floor personnel to follow
• Directly support personnel in the day-to-day execution of the assembly, integration, and test tasks
• Support execution of test processes required for specific test phases, review telemetry/test data and document/analyze anomalies
• Assist with manufacturing cost estimates and tooling/process recommendations for new or existing product lines
• Support RCCA processes to improve quality and reliability
• Support process improvement initiatives of technical and operational nature
• Must be able to obtain a US security clearance
