Varda Space Industries, Inc. is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer II for the Flight Software team in El Segundo. You will determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software across requirements capture, design, implementation, testing, and flight operations support.

The role requires experience with real-time embedded systems, C++, and safety-critical software. On-site work in El Segundo, CA, with competitive pay and stock options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/engineering/math/physics or equivalent
• 3+ years in development of spacecraft or safety-critical software
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems
• Experience with C++ language concepts

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft operation through the entire mission
• Own software development from design to testing and flight operational support
• Scope projects with requirements capture and initial design trades
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++
• Build highly reliable software systems
• Ensure system quality and performance through V&V techniques
