Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electro Optical System Engineer for our Space team to drive the integration of EO payloads on spacecraft from concept development through on-orbit execution.

You will collaborate across engineering disciplines to derive requirements, perform performance analyses, and develop test plans while calibrating optical payloads and training other AI&T professionals in lab procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience assembling, integrating, and testing space payloads.
• Deep understanding of professional optical test equipment and methods.
• Experience with photon transfer, radiometry, and PSF measurements.
• Able to navigate complex systems and detailed requirements.
• Strong documentation and training material skills.
• Eligibility for active U.S. Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design active and passive EO payload concepts.
• Derive system and unit requirements.
• Analyze payload performance using physics-based methods.
• Develop test plans and procedures for labs.
• Calibrate radiometric and geometric performance of flight hardware.
• Prepare ICDs for payload integration.
• Collaborate across mechanical, thermal, electrical, and software teams.
• Define on-orbit calibration sequences and support operations.
• Train AI&T staff on payload testing.
