Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer to support cybersecurity across a satellite ground system development program for NOAA. Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Experience with Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance, i.e. DISASTER & NIST 800-53 compliance, documentation.
• Experience deploying and maintaining cybersecurity tools to include vulnerability scanning/management, SIEM, PAM, WAF, endpoint protection and cloud security applications
• Must have network and firewall engineering experience with designing, implementation, and maintaining layer 2 and 3 networking devices and/or firewall devices.
• Strong knowledge of the OSI 7-layer model, TCP/IP and common application layer protocols.
• Experience working with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Asset Manager, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, etc.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops enterprise cyber systems and CI/CD pipelines supporting DevSecOps and Zero Trust.
• Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures and provides architectural analysis.
• Provides technical expertise for NOAA FISMA High systems, including security tool management and cloud security configurations.
• Supports NOAA cyber security mission by configuring and updating network security capabilities.
• Manages vulnerability remediation and patch management processes.
• Monitors secure network connectivity and high-quality data transmission.
• Creates network security processes and architecture diagrams.
• Provides technical expertise to large or complex projects.
• Establishes and maintains SOPs for operations teams.
