Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related STEM field.
• 10+ years in aerospace engineering with space vehicle design experience.
• 5+ years of direct engineering personnel management.
• Proven leadership of engineering teams with hiring and performance management.
• Proficient in project management tools and Agile methodologies.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a multi-disciplined Space Systems team and ensure technical quality and schedule performance.
• Support professional growth and career development of spacecraft engineers.
• Drive innovation and implement process improvements in engineering practices.
• Collaborate with project, product, and technical leads to define scope and deliver high-quality work.
• Manage workload, assignments, development, and conflict resolution within the team.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and quarterly performance evaluations.
• Coordinate headcount planning, recruitment, onboarding and training of new personnel.
• Represent team needs in technical meetings and coordinate with subject matter experts.
• Work with the VP of Space Systems to report on departmental efforts.
• Apply Agile methods to sprint planning and progression tracking.
• Ensure compliance with legal, security, and company policy requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
