Job summary

Cimarron Inc. is seeking a Materials & Processes Principal Engineer to lead design and development of structural and mechanical components for space suits, based in Houston, TX.

You will advise on materials, processes, and test methods for IVA/EVA environments, and guide trade studies and vendor qualifications to meet NASA standards. The role requires extensive experience in metallurgy, AM, and space hardware, with collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and leadership of internal and

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or permanent resident required due to facility security.
• Background check and drug screening will be conducted.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends to meet milestones.
• 15+ years of experience in materials and process engineering.
• Demonstrated mastery of materials and processes for space hardware.
• Knowledge of NASA standards and material data requirements for spaceflight hardware.

Responsibilities

• Advise on M&P requirements for IVA/EVA environments, including materials selection and process control.
• Perform trade studies and make/buy recommendations.
• Ensure M&P aspects are incorporated into program specifications.
• Review NASA-relevant documentation to meet spaceflight standards.
• Coordinate internal and external M&P efforts for additive manufacturing, including supplier qualifications and testing.
• Support standardization of material evaluation and qualification processes.
• Provide vendor guidance for qualification and acceptance testing.
