Job summary

Astrion seeks a Materials & Processes Engineer for an on-site role at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston. You will advise on materials selection, process control, and qualification for IVA and EVA environments, supporting spaceflight hardware across propulsion, environmental life support, thermal, and electronic systems.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years in M&P, with strong analytical skills and the ability to coordinate across disciplines.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related work experience in Materials & Processes.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Metallurgy, Materials Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems).
• Knowledge of materials and processes for space applications, including corrosion prevention and electrical bonding.
• Experience with design for corrosion prevention and materials specifications.

Responsibilities

• Advise on M&P requirements for IVA and EVA environments, material selection, and process control.
• Review hardware, analysis, operation, hazard reviews, anomaly resolution, and flight acceptance testing.
• Prepare and present program board materials and provide verification plans.
• Ensure M&P requirements are integrated into hardware designs and specifications.
• Assess vendor processes and recommend qualification and acceptance testing.
• Support inspection and manufacturing processes for human space flight systems.
• Collaborate across disciplines to manage technical risks.
• Other duties as required.
