Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Structural Analyst III to join the New Glenn Advanced Upper Stage team across multiple locations (WA/FL/CO/Greater Seattle area). You will perform hand calculations and FE analyses of primary and secondary structures, generate stress documentation, and support qualification tests.

You will mentor junior analysts and help automate analysis workflows. Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 3+ years in structural analysis, and strong proficiency in

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 3+ years related experience.
• Proficiency with analysis codes such as Nastran, Optistruct, Ansys, Abaqus.
• High proficiency with FEM/FEA tools (FEMAP, Abaqus CAE or Hypermesh).
• Extensive understanding of FEM modeling techniques (BCs, contacts, bolts).
• Ability to perform hand-calculation and FEA using industry-standard software.
• Experience with development/qualification testing (requirements, setup, test predictions).
• Knowledge of aerospace/launch-vehicle structural requirements and fatigue/fracture analysis.
• Willingness to relocate to WA, FL, or CO locations.

Responsibilities

• Detailed hand calculations and FE analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures.
• Document stress analyses to support engineering drawings and documents release.
• Support test campaigns with predictions and reporting for hardware qualifications.
• Build and refine system and detail models for structural design.
• Collaborate with teams for configuration development and trade studies.
• Mentor designers and junior analysts in stress, stability, and fracture analysis.
• Develop automation tools to improve analysis processes and reports.
