Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a bold System Architect/Engineer to define and maintain the Axiom Station architecture across hardware, software, and operations. You will translate mission needs into structured system requirements and integrated technical solutions, working with cross-functional teams to manage trade studies, risks, and interfaces.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field; Senior: 5+ yrs, Staff: 7+ yrs, Principle: 15+ yrs of experience.
Experience with MBSE tools (Cameo, CATIA, Rhapsody, Sparx, Innoslate) or equivalent.
Proficiency with SysML and artifacts: requirements, ICDs, IDDs, ConOps.
Python proficiency for modeling, automation, and tooling development.
Familiarity with SolidWorks/PDM for configuration control and physical interface evaluation.
Exposure to NASA SE lifecycle milestones (SRR, PDR, CDR, FRR).
Ability to support cost, risk, and schedule integration with technical planning.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and/or Mathematica for system modeling/analysis.
Familiarity with reliability, maintainability, FMEA and fault management.
Familiarity with Monte Carlo or probabilistic analyses.
Strong communication and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Axiom Station system architecture using MBSE and MBSE frameworks.
Collaborate with subsystem design owners to ensure architecture aligns with mechanical/electrical constraints.
Support system decomposition and requirements flow down across engineering disciplines.
Generate architecture deliverables, trade analyses, and reports for internal reviews.
Coordinate with subsystem owners, program management, and mission operations for consistency.
Perform cross-discipline integration to identify risks and emergent behaviors early.
Support integration and test activities to validate modeled assumptions.
Maintain traceability and configuration across concept through deployment.
Participate in major design reviews and readiness milestones with stakeholders.
Communicate progress and potential issues to leadership.
Implement and maintain agile project management methodologies.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
