Job summary

Vast Space Llc. in Long Beach, CA is hiring a Manufacturing Coordinator, Second Shift to support Haven-1 Manufacturing. The role coordinates material flow, works cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and QA, and ensures timely progress on tube shop builds.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a second shift (2pm–10:30pm) and requires 2+ years in manufacturing, with SAP/Oracle/Smartsheet experience and a detail-oriented, self-starting mindset.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Highly detail oriented and self starter.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the flow of tubes, hardware and fittings through bending, weld, proof, NDE and quality operations to ensure schedules and build priorities are met.
• Work with manufacturing technicians, engineers, and supply chain teams to ensure materials, components, and tooling are staged and ready for upcoming builds.
• Track work order status and hardware readiness including material and fittings required to support tube assembly activities.
• Identify and elevate issues impacting production schedules such as material shortages, tooling availability, quality holds, or documentation gaps.
• Maintain accurate status of builds and assembly activities within internal tracking tools and work order systems.
• Ensure proper handling, packaging, and documentation of completed avionics hardware for downstream handoffs and storage.
• Support coordination between production operations and downstream activities to ensure seamless hardware transitions.
• Generate and maintain reports providing visibility into build status, upcoming activities, and schedule risks.
• Collaborate with Master Scheduler, engineers, and manufacturing leadership to align production priorities and capacity.
• Facilitate communication between engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and maintain schedule adherence.
• Assist with material staging, hardware kitting, and documentation required for Tube shop assembly activities.
