Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a hands-on space safety analyst to develop and maintain MMOD, demise, and collision models. You will work with MATLAB and Python to support regulatory filings and design decisions across spacecraft systems.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in debris analysis or survivability, and a strong background in aerospace engineering and computational tools. The role involves cross-team collaboration and delivering quantitative results for safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, astrodynamics, physics, mechanical engineering, or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in orbital debris analysis, spacecraft survivability, collision avoidance, or related disciplines.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for scientific computing; ability to develop and maintain engineering analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and maintain MMOD environment and impact risk models.
• Develop demise and re-entry survivability models and assess demisability requirements.
• Develop collision probability models and conjugation assessment tools at full constellation scale.
• Build and maintain validated analysis tools in MATLAB and/or Python with reproducibility.
