Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a System Safety and Reliability Engineer to support the Core Avionics group. You will develop FHA, FMECA, and reliability predictions for avionics hardware, and work with NASA and HLS teams to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include safety analyses, traceability, and collaboration with Vehicle Systems Engineers to harmonize safety artifacts across subsystems. This role offers the chance to impact lunar transportation systems and human space exploration.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree or equivalent relevant experience in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of strong system safety and mission assurance experience (FMECAs, FTAs, FHAs).
• 5+ years of experience in development of electronic hardware.
• Experience with reliability predictions per MIL-HDBK-217F, 217Plus, PRISM, etc.
• Applied knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to earn trust and maintain professional relationships.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop FHA, FMECA, and reliability predictions for avionics hardware.
• Support in developing FTA, Hazard Sheets, CCA, ASA, HAZOP.
• Ensure traceability between subsystem and component functions, requirements, and safety artifacts.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Systems Engineers to ensure common safety artifacts.
