Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Promontory, UT is seeking Design & Analysis Engineers (Level 2 or 3) to define and analyze solid rocket motor hardware. You will work across design, structural, and propulsion groups, delivering 3D models, drawings, and analysis to support development and production.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, and Safety, using NX and FEA tools to balance technical performance with cost and schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a classical engineering/STEM discipline; 2+ years of professional experience for Level 2, or 5+ years for Level 3
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret security clearance
• Strong understanding of solid mechanics and classical mechanics principles
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling and mechanical drawings; familiarity with FEA tools

Responsibilities

• Support the design, analysis, test, and production of solid rocket motor hardware
• Provide accurate, on-time 3D models, drawings, and specifications
• Participate in trade studies and design changes balancing performance, cost, and schedule
• Develop engineering documentation and test plans/reports
• Perform structural analysis and evaluate test data to refine models
• Plan and support development, qualification, and production testing of flight hardware
• Provide production and floor support including issue resolution and non-conformances
• Interact with multidisciplinary teams to ensure requirements are met
• Prepare technical content for design reviews and customer briefings
• Learn and improve standard design and analysis processes
