Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector seeks Structural/Design Engineers at Level 2 or 3 in Promontory, UT (or Magna, UT). You will define design and analysis for solid rocket motor hardware, delivering accurate 3D models and drawings and supporting development through production testing.

The role requires solid mechanics knowledge, strong communication, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Relocation assistance and a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in classical engineering/STEM discipline with 2 years of experience or Master’s/PhD in engineering/STEM
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
• Strong understanding of solid mechanics and classical mechanics principles
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling and structural analysis tools such as Abaqus/ANSYS

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze solid rocket motor components (nozzles, cases, propellant, bonding)
• Provide accurate 3D models, drawings, and specifications for motor components
• Participate in trade studies balancing technical performance, cost and schedule
• Develop technical documentation and test plans/reports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet requirements
