Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Kitchen Worker to support the Deep Space Network program at Fort Irwin, CA. You will assist in food prep, sanitation, and general kitchen duties, with flexibility for peak periods and events.

Responsibilities include HACCP adherence, cash handling, dishwashing, stocking, and daily office tasks. The role requires HS Diploma, 1+ year kitchen experience, ability to lift 50 lbs, customer service skills, and a valid Food Handlers Card.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year kitchen experience.
• Experience with basic maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Flexibility to work on short notice.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Food Handlers Card.
• US Citizenship and ability to pass NCIC background check and Real ID driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Understand proper food handling, preparation, storage, HACCP under supervision.
• Operate a cash register.
• Operate dishwasher and hand wash dishes as needed.
• Stack plasticware, stock condiments, ensure salt/pepper and napkin holders are full.
• Deliver all to-go orders to other departments on complex.
• Wipe tables between customers.
• Wipe shelves in kitchen and fridges weekly.
• Operate tea/coffee machines and complete daily cleaning processes.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors daily.
• Complete hood cleaning weekly.
• Clean steam line weekly.
• Complete product stocking tasks.
• Perform daily office tasks using a computer terminal and MS Office.
• Follow procedures to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Assist in health, safety, cleanliness and safe working practices.
• Carry out other duties within the function of the job.
