Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Kitchen Worker to support DSN operations at Fort Irwin, CA, working alongside JPL/NASA. The role involves assisting with food preparation, sanitation, and general kitchen duties in peak periods and staff absences.

Candidates must have HS Diploma and kitchen experience, be able to lift 50 lbs, have a Food Handlers Card, and be eligible for a background check. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year of kitchen experience.
• Experience with basic maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Flexibility to work on short notice.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Food Handlers Card.
• Able to obtain a trusted background check and pass NCIC; US citizenship proof required.
• Valid Driver’s License (Real ID).

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff with food preparation, sanitation and general kitchen duties as needed.
• Operate a cash register.
• Operate dishwasher and hand wash dishes.
• Stock condiments and ensure salt/pepper holders are full.
• Deliver to-go orders to other departments as required.
• Wipe down tables and sweep/mop kitchen areas.
• Maintain hood cleaning and equipment cleaning tasks weekly.
• Use MS Office for basic record-keeping and documentation.
