Job summary

Defense Unicorns seeks mission-driven Mission Directors to spearhead full-lifecycle capture efforts across the Space ecosystem. You will shape and lead strategic pursuits, aligning secure software delivery, DevSecOps, edge deployments, and cybersecurity with DoD needs.

This role requires developing capture plans, winning strategies, and early engagement with government stakeholders. Travel 20%-30% is expected as you drive opportunities and build elite, multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to win complex technical pursuits through the full capture lifecycle.
• Experience with Space Force acquisition processes (FAR-based contracts, OTAs, SBIR, IDIQ).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills across technical and executive audiences.

Responsibilities

• Drive new Mission Hero acquisition across the Space ecosystem and align with growth objectives.
• Develop and execute capture plans, win strategies, and competitive positioning.
• Engage government stakeholders, primes, and ecosystem partners early in opportunities.
• Understand customer pain points, timelines, and funding paths across DoD branches.
• Identify and lead teaming arrangements to enhance capabilities and competitive position.
• Translate capabilities into persuasive win themes for proposals.
• Support RFI/RFP responses with market intelligence and pricing input.
• Prepare reports on BD activities, KPIs, and strategy effectiveness.
• Represent the company at industry and government events to gather intelligence.
