Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a Mechanisms Engineer to design, analyze, build, test, and iterate space mechanisms for flight hardware. You will own critical spacecraft components and work with a top production team to translate designs into spacecraft.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years of mechanism-related experience, with strong CAD/FEA skills and aerospace knowledge. This is a full-time position based in Long Beach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or similar engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in the design, build, and/or test of mechanisms, structures, valves, or other mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanisms from ideation to flight: design, analyze, build, test, and iteration.
  • Own critical spacecraft hardware/systems, assuming profound responsibility for their hardware.
  • Interface with a world-class production team to ensure successful translation of designs into spacecraft.
