Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Creo and Windchill.
• Proficiency with ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Experience generating work orders, assembly procedures and test plans for mechanisms testing.
• Familiarity with spaceflight mechanisms and related tooling.
• Knowledge of materials, processes, and connectors used in space hardware.
• Experience with motion simulation and finite element analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, layout, and analysis of mechanisms for Nova-landers and payloads.
• Develop performance specifications for actuators and oversee testing.
• Contribute to subsystem reviews, requirements definition, and verification planning.
• Maintain detailed BOM and manage procurement.
• Interface with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanisms.
• Drive supplier selection and performance management.
• Perform mechanism analyses including bearing and gear calculations, lubrication life, and dynamic simulations.
• Generate CAD drawings and perform tolerances and optimization.
• Perform environmental testing and evaluate results.
• Mentor junior engineers and represent at reviews.
