Job summary

Vast Space Llc. seeks a Mechanisms Engineer to develop space mechanisms from ideation to flight, owning hardware and interfacing with a world-class production team.

The role focuses on motorized assemblies, linkages, and rotating hardware for Haven Station propulsion and deployment systems. You will leverage NX/Teamcenter or Creo/CATIA with GD&T, and apply FEMAP/ANSYS for structural analysis, fatigue, and crack propagation understanding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or similar engineering.
• 2+ years designing, building, and/or testing mechanisms or related systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanisms from ideation to flight: design, analyze, build, test, iterate.
• Own critical spacecraft hardware and interface with production teams.
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers to translate designs into spaceflight hardware.
