Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, California, is seeking a Mechanisms Engineer to drive the development of space mechanisms from concept to flight. You will design, analyze, build, test, and iterate motorized assemblies, linkages, springs, and crew-operated devices for flight hardware.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering and at least 2 years of hands-on experience with mechanisms, structures, valves, or other mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or similar engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in the design, build, and/or test of mechanisms, structures, valves, or other mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanisms from ideation to flight: design, analyze, build, test, and iteration.
• Own critical spacecraft hardware/systems, assuming profound responsibility for their hardware.
• Interface with a world-class production team to ensure successful translation of designs into spacecraft.
