Vast, headquartered in Long Beach, California, is seeking a Mechanisms Engineer to support the development of space mechanisms for Haven Station. This full-time exempt role reports to the Sr. Manager of Mechanisms and is located in Long Beach.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical/aerospace background with hands-on design, build, and test experience, plus proficiency in CAD packages and GD&T. You will collaborate with production teams to bring mechanisms from concept to flight and manage critical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or similar engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in the design, build, and/or test of mechanisms, structures, valves, or other mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanisms from ideation to flight: design, analyze, build, test, and iteration.
• Own critical spacecraft hardware/systems, assuming profound responsibility for their hardware.
• Interface with a world-class production team to ensure successful translation of designs into spacecraft.
