Job summary

The Office of the Secretary of the Interior is seeking a Space Management Specialist within the Office of Facilities and Administrative Services (OFAS) in Washington, DC. You will handle space planning, recordkeeping, and forecasting for the DOI Headquarters and other OS locations globally.

You will liaise with GSA, support reporting to Congress and the President's budget, ensure efficient space allocation, and provide guidance on space management policies and regulations.

You will serve as a Space Management Specialist with the Office of Facilities and Administrative Services (OFAS). First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Provides space planning, recordkeeping, and forecasting for the DOI Headquarters and other OS locations globally. Represents DOI with regards to the General Services Administration (GSA), which owns the DOI Headquarters and provides the bulk of leasing services for the Department.

Provides routine reporting with scope impacting official reporting to Congress and the formulation of the President's budget on topics including Use It Act compliance and the Federal Real Property Portfolio. Ensures space at DOI facilities is allocated efficiently and in compliance with governing rules and regulations. Provides expertise and guidance to senior DOI officials on space management policies and regulations.
