Job summary

Blue Origin in Merritt Island, FL seeks a structural engineer to lead the design, certification, and testing of pressurized and unpressurized spacecraft structures for the New Glenn program. You will perform hand calculations, FE analyses, and collaborate across teams to ensure performance and safety.

Candidates should have a BS degree in engineering with 2+ years in aerospace structures and experience with Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus; familiarity with CATIA/ Creo; plus fatigue and fracture analysis.

Qualifications

BS degree in engineering with 2+ years in aerospace structures.
Proficiency with Nastran, Optistruct, Ansys or Abaqus.
Strong FE analysis experience and FEM modeling skills.
Experience with development/qualification testing.
Familiarity with aerospace sizing methods and Fatigue/Fracture Analysis.

Responsibilities

Detailed hand Calc and FE analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures.
Documentation of stress analysis to support release of engineering drawings/documents.
Support test campaigns and reporting for hardware qualifications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for configuration development and trade studies.
Mentor designers and junior analysts in stress, stability, and fracture analysis.
