Job summary

RTX's Raytheon Intelligence & Space in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer intern to join the space and airborne optics team, performing opto-mechanical design with Creo and supporting assembly, integration and test across space programs.

You will create and revise drawings with GD&T, participate in peer reviews, and collaborate with technicians and other engineering disciplines to ensure producibility and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering and enrolled through the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience in the design and development of mechanical hardware.
• Experience in CAD software, such as Creo.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise opto-mechanical designs/drawings with GD&T to meet requirements.
• Generate assembly instructions and provide build support with technicians and other engineering disciplines.
• Present work for peer reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Understand and implement design for producibility and manufacturability in the project.
