Job summary

RTX’s Electro-Optics Department seeks an intern to learn and contribute across subsystem architecture, integration, and hardware design. You will support as a mentee and contributor, performing optical alignment/testing of telescope assemblies and EO modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Responsibilities also include requirements development, subsystem trades, and assisting with design of optical and opto-mechanical seeker systems and fixtures for missiles as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Optical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related STEM major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Optical design or systems integration and test coursework or experience such as optical testing and alignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist on development programs across subsystem architecture, integration, or hardware design.
• Support as mentee and individual contributor on program activities.
• Perform optical alignment/testing of telescope assembly processes.
• Modeling, simulation, and analysis for EO applications.
• Contribute to requirements development and subsystem trades.
• Assist design of optical and opto-mechanical seeker systems and test fixtures.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to troubleshoot design and process issues.
